Combination spanner made from cold-forged CRV steel, vacuum hardened and tempered for greater resistance to bending. The 15° offset at both ends allows work in confined spaces.
Die forging at low temperatures increases material density and eliminates porosity, which translates into greater mechanical strength. After heat treatment, chrome vanadium (CRV) steel reaches a hardness of 40–46 HRC, resisting deformation under high torque.
Hardening in a vacuum furnace eliminates contact with oxygen, preventing surface decarburisation and overheating. Quenching in hardening oil ensures even cooling. Tempering at a controlled temperature relieves internal stresses, increasing bending strength by 20–30% compared with standard hardening.
The open end set at 15° and the ring end offset by 15° allow work in areas with limited access. The spanner can be repositioned with every 30° turn, making it possible to loosen bolts even with a minimal swing.
Electroplated nickel forms a protective layer 5–10 μm thick, guarding against corrosion in damp conditions. The satin finish reduces glare and gives a neat appearance while protecting against surface scratches.

The DIN 3113-A standard specifies the dimensions, tolerances and strength requirements for double-ended combination spanners. Spanners complying with this standard must withstand a test torque of at least 1.5 times the maximum working torque for the given size. For a 19 mm spanner this means resistance to torques exceeding 150 Nm without permanent deformation.
The VPA GS (Geprüfte Sicherheit) certificate issued by the German VPA institution confirms that the product meets the safety requirements laid down in the German Product Safety Act. Tools bearing this certificate undergo strength, material and ergonomic testing, which guarantees safe use in industrial conditions.
Before starting work, check that the spanner size matches the dimensions of the bolt or nut. Using the wrong size damages the corners of the fastener and reduces the effectiveness of torque transfer.
When tightening, apply force evenly, without jerking. The ring end distributes torque better and minimises the risk of damaging the bolt corners. For seized or heavily corroded joints, apply a penetrating fluid before starting to loosen them.
After use, clean the spanner of dirt and oil. Despite the corrosion protection, prolonged contact with moisture or chemicals can damage the coating. Store it in a dry place, preferably in tool organisers or on wall panels.
Check the condition of the spanner heads regularly. Rounded corners or visible cracks disqualify the tool from further use on safety grounds. Do not use extensions or pipes to increase leverage, as exceeding the working torque can cause the spanner to break.
