A core drill bit with a tungsten carbide cutting ring, designed for drilling holes in concrete, brick, plasterboard and tiles. Supplied with an SDS Plus adapter and a pilot drill for precision.
Teeth made from tungsten carbide provide durability when drilling into hard building materials. This material is abrasion-resistant and stays sharp far longer than standard tool steels.
The SDS Plus adapter allows quick bit changes without the need for spanners. This system provides a secure fit and efficient transfer of impact energy from the drill to the core bit, which is essential when drilling into concrete.
The central pilot drill allows the hole centre to be marked precisely and stabilises the core bit during the initial drilling phase. This eliminates the risk of the tool slipping, particularly on smooth surfaces.
The 150 mm diameter matches the standard sizes of back boxes and distribution boards. It allows a hole to be drilled with sufficient clearance to seat electrical components together with mounting mortar.

The core bit requires a hammer drill or rotary hammer with an SDS Plus chuck. A minimum power of 800 W is recommended for concrete and 600 W for lighter materials. The tool must have a hammer action – a standard rotary drill will not drill effectively into concrete.
The M22 adapter thread is the standard used on most core drill bits. It allows the adapter to be replaced if necessary or connected to extension bars with the same thread. When buying extension bars, check thread compatibility.
Before drilling, check that there are no electrical cables or water pipes running through the planned hole location. Cable detectors are used for this purpose. Drill with moderate pressure, allowing the tool to work at its own pace.
When working in concrete, it is advisable to cool the core bit with water periodically, which extends the life of the tungsten carbide and speeds up the drilling process. For tiles, start drilling without the hammer action to avoid cracking, and only switch on the hammer action once the ceramic layer has been penetrated.
After use, clean the core bit of dust and material residue. It is worth checking the toothed ring periodically for carbide wear – blunt teeth significantly increase drilling time and place greater load on the drill.
