SDS Plus cross-tip drill bit with a four-edge X-Tip head, designed for drilling into reinforced concrete, calcium silicate blocks and clay brick. The twin spiral ensures efficient debris removal, minimising the risk of jamming.
The four-edge design increases the contact area with the material, which translates into faster drilling. On encountering reinforcement, the bit keeps working without the risk of damaging the tip – the edges distribute the load, minimising impact shocks.
Two spiral flutes effectively carry dust and fragments out of the hole while drilling. This prevents the flutes from clogging and the bit from jamming, particularly in deep holes in concrete.
40Cr chrome steel maintains dimensional stability as the temperature rises during intensive drilling. This eliminates the risk of the shank expanding and seizing in the SDS Plus chuck – the bit can be changed quickly even after prolonged work.
YG-11C sintered carbide is characterised by high hardness and wear resistance. This material withstands contact with aggregate, reinforcement and hard aggregates in concrete, keeping the cutting edges sharp for longer.

The SDS Plus shank is standard on rotary hammers and hammer drills weighing up to 5 kg. Before starting work, check that the drill supports hammer drilling mode – a cross-tip bit requires both rotation and axial impact for efficient drilling in concrete.
Before drilling, clean any dirt from the drill bit shank and apply a thin layer of graphite grease to the SDS Plus grooves. This ensures smooth seating in the chuck and easy removal once the work is finished.
When drilling, pauses of 30-40 seconds are recommended, particularly for holes deeper than 200 mm. This allows the tip to cool and the debris to clear. Excessive heating of the carbide can lead to micro-cracks and shorten the life of the bit.
After use, clean the bit with compressed air or a brush, removing concrete dust from the spiral flutes. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion of the steel body.
