The YATO crowbar is a tool forged from 65Mn manganese steel, designed for demolition, dismantling and construction work. Its profiled section increases the efficiency of prising apart and separating structural components.
The material contains 0.62-0.70% carbon and 0.90-1.20% manganese, which ensures high hardness and wear resistance. The forging process further strengthens the structure by eliminating internal stresses. This steel retains its elasticity even under heavy loads, which prevents permanent deformation during use.
The 30x17 mm flat profile provides an optimal strength-to-weight ratio. The 30 mm width allows forces to be transferred effectively when prising, while the 17 mm thickness guarantees the rigidity of the structure. The profiling increases the second moment of area, which translates into greater resistance to bending.
The 90 cm length is a compromise between leverage and manoeuvrability. It provides sufficient leverage to prise up heavy components while retaining control of the tool in confined spaces. This length is a standard in renovation and construction work.
The hardening and tempering process gives the steel the appropriate surface hardness while maintaining a ductile core. This treatment minimises the risk of cracking on impact and ensures a long service life of the tool under conditions of intensive use.

When using the crowbar, wear protective gloves and safety goggles to protect against flying debris. The tool should be used in line with the direction of the profile in order to make full use of the strength of the section. Do not use the crowbar as a lever to lift loads beyond the operator's capability.
After finishing work, clean the crowbar of any material residue and protect it against corrosion. When working in damp conditions, it is advisable to wipe the tool dry and periodically oil the surface. Storing it in a dry place extends the service life of the tool.
Before each use, check the crowbar for cracks, particularly in areas of highest stress. Excessive permanent deformation may indicate that the tool has been overloaded. If any mechanical damage is found, the crowbar should be withdrawn from use.
