YATO 180 mm YT-6014 Diamond Blade - continuous rim for cutting porcelain stoneware, glazed tiles and ceramics

A continuous rim diamond blade designed for precision cutting of ceramic, stone and glass materials. The unbroken diamond rim eliminates edge chipping when cutting delicate materials.

Features of the 180 mm diamond blade

Continuous rim - clean cutting edges

The unbroken diamond rim delivers smooth, chip-free cutting of ceramic and stone materials. A rim 5.3 mm high and 2.5 mm thick allows the blade to be guided precisely without vibration, which improves the quality of the cut edge.

Wet cutting - extended service life

The blade requires water cooling during use. Wet cutting lowers the working temperature of the diamond rim, extending its life by up to three times compared with dry cutting. It also eliminates the build-up of ceramic dust.

Recommended speed 8,000 rpm

An optimum speed of around 8,000 revolutions per minute ensures efficient cutting without overheating the rim. At this speed a 180 mm blade reaches a linear speed of around 75 m/s, which guarantees efficient removal of material from the cut line.

Compatibility with angle grinders

The 180 mm diameter suits 1,800-2,200 W angle grinders with an M14 spindle thread. Before fitting, check the maximum permitted blade diameter in the tool's instructions and that the mounting bore matches.

Applications for the diamond blade on glazed tiles and porcelain stoneware

  • Cutting porcelain stoneware tiles up to 12 mm thick
  • Trimming glazed wall and floor tiles
  • Cutting ceramic mosaic and glass inserts
  • Cutting stone tiles such as travertine and marble
  • Cutting ceramic paving bricks and clay pavers
  • Trimming technical porcelain and sanitaryware
  • Cutting out openings for electrical sockets in tiles
  • Cutting toughened and laminated glass with adequate cooling

Use and maintenance of the diamond blade

Cooling requirements

The blade requires a constant supply of water to the cutting zone. On bench tile saws, check the water level in the tank before starting work. When using angle grinders, fit a special water-fed guard or dip the blade regularly in a container of water every 20-30 seconds of cutting.

Checking the condition of the rim

Regularly check the remaining height of the diamond rim. Once the rim is worn below 2 mm, cutting performance drops and the risk of damaging the blade body increases. A worn blade should be replaced with a new one.

Matching the speed to the material

With harder materials (technical porcelain stoneware, stone) the feed rate can be increased while keeping the speed constant. When cutting glass and porcelain, use a slower feed rate to avoid thermal cracking of the material.
