Diamond Core Drill Bit for Porcelain 25mm M14 (K00507)

A tool for precision drilling of holes in hard ceramic materials. Fitted with a diamond coating, it delivers lasting performance when working in glazed porcelain, technical porcelain, clinker and ceramics.

Working diameter25 mm
Mounting typeM14 thread
Operating modeWet / dry
ModelK00507

Technical features

Diamond coating

The working segment, coated with synthetic diamonds, can cut materials with a hardness above 7 on the Mohs scale. The diamond coating is abrasion-resistant, which keeps drilling parameters consistent throughout the tool's service life.

M14 mounting

The M14 thread is the standard fitting used on angle grinders from 600W upwards. The direct connection eliminates axial play and keeps the tool stable while drilling. Compatible with popular power tool brands, with no adaptors required.

Wet and dry use

The core drill is designed for drilling with water cooling (wet use) – recommended for holes over 20mm in diameter in order to extend the tool's service life. Dry use is also possible with shorter drilling cycles, which makes installation work easier where there is no access to water.

25mm diameter

A 25mm diameter hole matches the typical dimensions required for installation: basin taps (fixing bolts), furniture handles and wall hooks. This diameter provides sufficient installation clearance for standard M6-M8 fixings.

Use and maintenance

Preparation before use

Before fitting the core drill, check the condition of the M14 thread on the grinder – remove any dirt and residue left by previous tools. Screw the core drill on by hand, then tighten it with a spanner – avoid over-tightening, which can make removal difficult. Check the axial run-out; the maximum permitted is 0.5mm.

Drilling parameters

The recommended speed for a 25mm diameter is 4,000-6,000 rpm. Too low a speed prolongs drilling time and accelerates diamond wear. Too high a speed can overheat the material and cause chipping. Pressure on the tool should be moderate – around 3-5 kg of force. Excessive pressure does not speed up drilling; it increases the load on the motor and wears the tool faster.

Cooling during use

For wet use, apply a continuous supply of water to the drilling zone – this reduces friction, dissipates heat and can extend the life of the diamond coating by up to three times. You can use a soaked sponge or a gravity-fed system from a bottle. For dry use, drill in cycles of 10-15 seconds, with breaks to let the tool cool.

Maintenance after use

After use, clean the core drill of ceramic dust with a stiff-bristled brush. Check the condition of the diamond coating – even wear indicates correct drilling technique. Store in a dry place, protected from impact. Do not use solvents or caustic agents for cleaning.
