A set of eight double-ended ring spanners made from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel. Each spanner has two ring ends in different sizes, allowing a wide range of bolts and nuts to be handled without changing tools. The set covers sizes from 6 to 22 mm.
The CrV alloy offers increased hardness and resistance to plastic deformation. Spanners made from this material retain their ring shape even when transmitting high tightening torques, which extends tool life and reduces the risk of slipping off the bolt head.
Each spanner has two ring ends in different sizes. This means one tool replaces two separate spanners — reducing the number of tools needed for the job and cutting down the time spent searching for the right size.
Unlike an open-ended spanner, the ring encircles the bolt or nut head on all sides. The force is distributed evenly across all six faces of the hexagon, which reduces the risk of slipping and damaging the head, particularly with corroded or seized fasteners.
Eight spanners cover sixteen sizes (6–22 mm) with no gaps in the standard metric range. The set includes the sizes most commonly used in vehicle mechanics, plumbing and general mechanical work.

The size of a ring spanner corresponds to the width across the flats of the bolt or nut head, measured between opposing parallel faces. This value is marked on the bolt head or given in the equipment's technical documentation. If no markings are present, the size can be measured with a vernier calliper.
Ring spanners should be used only on metric fasteners of the sizes marked on the spanner. Using a spanner of the wrong size risks damaging the bolt head and deforming the ring. After use, it is advisable to wipe the tools with a clean cloth and apply a thin layer of anti-corrosion oil — particularly when storing them in damp conditions. The spanners are not designed to be extended with pipes or other devices that increase leverage beyond the nominal shaft length.
