A mechanical tool for unblocking drainage systems, fitted with a 6-metre galvanised steel spring. The drum design with manual feed allows the auger to be guided precisely through pipes of various diameters.
The working length of the auger makes it possible to reach blockages in vertical soil stacks, in runs leading to inspection chambers and in horizontal pipes over distances that exceed standard waste pipe lengths. This allows pipework to be unblocked between rooms and in external systems.
Compatibility with cordless or mains-powered drills and drill-drivers removes the need to turn the auger by hand. The constant torque ensures that the tool advances evenly through the pipe, which improves the effectiveness of clearing organic and mechanical blockages.
Independent control over the feed rate of the auger lets the operator match the working pace to the level of contamination in the pipe. The operator can withdraw the tool if an obstacle is encountered or the pipework changes direction, without the risk of the auger becoming stuck.
The zinc coating protects the spring wire against corrosion on contact with water, waste water and chemically aggressive deposits. The spring design provides flexibility when passing through bends and tees in the drainage system.

| Manufacturer | YATO |
| Auger length | 6 m |
| Auger material | Galvanised spring wire |
| Design type | Drum |
| Feed system | Manual |
| Drive type | Electric drill/drill-driver |
| Application | Unblocking drainage systems |
Before starting to unblock the drain, secure the auger shank in the drill chuck, set a low speed (200–400 rpm) and insert the end of the auger into the access point or directly into the pipe. It is advisable to start work with the drive switched off in order to locate the start of the blockage.
During use the auger should be rotated continuously while being fed by hand deeper into the pipe. If resistance is met, do not force the tool – withdraw the auger by 20–30 cm and feed it back in at a higher rotational speed. Once the blockage has been broken through, pass the auger through the cleared section several times.
After use, clean the auger of debris under running water, dry it and spray it with a protective preparation or machine oil. The drum should be stored in a dry place. Regular inspection of the auger's condition allows damage to the wire to be detected early, which could otherwise lead to the tool snapping inside the pipe.
