Use and maintenance
Connecting to a dust extractor
The guard requires connection to an industrial or site dust extractor with adequate airflow. Standard domestic vacuum cleaners may not provide sufficient suction. Check the diameter of the guard's outlet port and select a suitable adaptor for the dust extractor hose.
Choosing the flange adaptor
Before fitting, measure the diameter of the grinder's flange or check the machine's manual. The adaptor must sit tightly against the grinder housing to keep the guard stable during use. A loose fit can cause vibration and reduce extraction efficiency.
Maintenance
Once work is finished, clean accumulated dust from the guard. Check the condition of the extraction port and the tightness of the connections. Damaged parts may reduce dust extraction efficiency. Store the guard in a dry place to prevent the plastic from deforming.
Compatibility check
Before purchase, check the following grinder parameters:
Disc diameter: The guard is suitable only for 115 mm and 125 mm discs. Do not fit it to grinders with 230 mm discs or larger.
Flange diameter: Measure the outer diameter of the disc mounting flange. If it is 39 mm or 45 mm, the guard will be compatible. For other diameters, additional reducing rings may be required.
Grinder housing design: Some grinder models have non-standard housing shapes that prevent universal guards from being fitted. Check that the guard can be mounted before first use.
