The KD5260 is an electric pole pruner that lets you cut branches up to 2.4 m above ground level without the need for a ladder. The tool runs a 3/8" chain on an 8" guide bar, driven by a 1100W motor powered from the mains.
The pole lets you reach branches growing up to 2.4 m above the ground. Being able to adjust the angle of the cutting head makes it easier to work on branches growing at different angles without changing the operator's position.
A chain with a 3/8" pitch (9.525 mm) and a gauge of 1.3 mm is a standard widely used on garden chainsaws. The cutting length is 180 mm, which suits typical branches on fruit and ornamental trees.
Mains power provides a constant working output with no need to charge batteries. The motor spins the chain up to 11 m/s with no load, which translates into effective cutting of branches whose diameter fits within the guide bar length.
The tool is fitted with a guard that protects the operator's hands from contact with the chain during use. It is a basic safety feature when working at height.

A replacement chain for the KD5260 must meet the following parameters: 3/8" pitch (9.525 mm), 1.3 mm gauge and 33 drive links. The guide bar is 8" (240 mm) long. When buying spare parts, all three parameters must be checked together, as each of them affects how the chain sits on the guide bar and the drive sprocket (6 teeth).
Check the chain tension before every use — a chain that is too loose may come off the guide bar, while one that is too tight speeds up wear on both parts. The chain and guide bar need regular lubrication with chainsaw chain oil. Work from a stable position, holding the tool with both hands and keeping clear of power lines. Disconnect the tool from the mains before cleaning or adjusting it.
