A deburring cutter for removing burrs from the external edges of metal and wooden components. Designed to be fitted in a drill or cordless drill driver with a 1/4" hex shank.
Tungsten carbide grade YG8 has a hardness of 89-91 HRA and good wear resistance. It keeps its cutting edges sharp even under heavy use on difficult-to-machine materials. The YG8 designation refers to the percentage of cobalt used as a binder, which balances hardness against resistance to cracking.
The adjustable working range lets you work on components of different diameters without changing tools. The deburring tool adjusts automatically to the diameter of the workpiece, from 3 to 19 mm, covering most common diameters of pipes, rods and shanks used in mechanical and metalworking workshops.
A 1/4" (6.35 mm) hex shank is the standard fit for power tools. It provides a secure, non-slip grip in the chucks of drills and cordless and pneumatic screwdrivers. The hex profile transmits torque effectively without the tool slipping in the chuck.
The tool geometry is designed for working the external edges of cylindrical and rod-shaped components. Unlike internal deburring tools, this type of cutter works around the circumference of the workpiece, removing burrs created by cutting, turning or threading. The design allows you to round off edges or create chamfers.

When deburring soft materials (aluminium, brass, wood), use higher speeds of 1500-2500 rpm. For structural and stainless steels, lower speeds of 800-1200 rpm are recommended, which prevents the blade from overheating and extends tool life. Always start at a lower speed and increase it gradually, checking the quality of the finish as you go.
Before first use, check that the shank is held securely in the drill chuck. While working, guide the tool evenly along the edge of the component, keeping the pressure steady. Avoid sudden movements, which can lead to an uneven finish or damage to the blade.
After use, clean the blade of swarf and dust with a brush or compressed air. Store the tool in a dry place, protecting the blade from impacts. Do not use the deburring tool on materials harder than tungsten carbide, such as technical ceramics or toughened glass.
Checking the condition of the blade at regular intervals allows you to spot wear early. If the cutting edges become noticeably blunt, consider having the tool resharpened by a specialist or replacing it. A damaged or chipped blade can lead to an uneven finish and increased load on the power tool motor.
