A YATO F-clamp with 800 mm clamping capacity and 120 mm throat depth. A workshop tool designed for holding and stabilising components during gluing, assembly and the working of wood and other materials.
The working bar features additional pressed ribs that increase the rigidity of the profile. This prevents the bar from flexing under load, ensuring even distribution of the clamping force along the entire length of the clamp. Particularly important when clamping long components.
The clamping screw is fitted with an optimised thread profile that ensures smooth adjustment without jamming. The thread design allows precise control of the clamping force, which matters when working with materials sensitive to excessive stress.
The movable pressure plate automatically adapts to the angle of the surface being clamped. This eliminates point loading and ensures even distribution of force across the entire contact area, protecting the material from damage.
Soft pads on the pressure plates protect the surfaces of the workpieces from scratches and dents. Particularly useful when working with painted wood, veneers or other delicate materials.

The maximum clamping capacity of 800 mm defines the greatest width of component that can be secured between the jaws of the clamp. This parameter determines the range of applications - an 800 mm clamp handles most standard furniture components, including worktops up to 80 cm wide. When choosing a clamp, a safety margin should be allowed for - the actual width of the component being clamped should be a few centimetres less than the maximum clamping capacity.
The 120 mm throat depth is the distance from the edge of the bar to the clamping line. It determines how far from the edge of a component the clamp can be applied. This parameter is important when clamping the central parts of wide boards or when obstacles on the edge of the material have to be worked around.
Before first use, check that the sliding jaw moves freely on the bar and that the clamping thread is in good condition. The thread should turn smoothly, without jamming. During use, the clamping force should be increased gradually, monitoring how the material responds.
After use, release the clamp and remove any contamination from the bar and the threaded mechanism. Periodically oil the thread and the surface of the bar with a light machine oil, which will ensure smooth operation and protection against corrosion.
Storing the clamp in a dry place extends the service life of the steel components. Avoiding excessive loads beyond the structural capacity prevents permanent deformation of the bar.
When working with an F-clamp, protective work gloves are recommended to protect the hands from injury when operating the clamping mechanism and from material splinters during the working of clamped components. Where work generates wood dust, respiratory protection is required.
