A 7-piece flare nut socket set designed for working on components fitted with pipes and cables, where standard hex sockets cannot reach. The open design allows connections to be assembled and dismantled without disconnecting the wiring.
The cut-out in the socket body allows pipes and cables to pass through during use. This design lets you undo fasteners without first dismantling the electrical system, which shortens service time and eliminates the risk of damaging plugs or connectors.
The sockets are fitted with 3/8" (10 mm) and 1/2" (12.5 mm) drives, making them compatible with a range of ratchets and torque wrenches. The smaller drive is useful in confined working spaces, while the larger one suits higher tightening torques.
This steel alloy with added chromium and vanadium combines increased surface hardness with a flexible core. The material resists wear and deformation when working at the high torques typical of threaded fasteners.
The clip-on storage system keeps the sockets in a set order, making it quicker to pick the right size. The rail prevents loss during transport and can be mounted on a workshop wall or in a tool trolley.

The drive size is marked on the anvil of the ratchet or torque wrench. The 3/8" (10 mm) standard is the most common size in automotive work, used for torques up to 200 Nm. The 1/2" (12.5 mm) drive is used for higher loads, such as undoing wheel bolts or suspension components. Flare nut sockets need a steady grip because of their smaller contact area with the nut.
Before using a flare nut socket, check that the size matches the nut or bolt. Choosing the wrong size can damage the edges of the fastener. During use, seat the socket square to the axis of the bolt so that the forces are distributed evenly.
After use, clean the sockets of dirt and oil residue. Pay particular attention to the side cut-out, where contamination can collect. Storing them on the metal rail protects against corrosion and makes it easier to check that the set is complete.
When working on aluminium components or parts with protective coatings, use the tightening torques specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Excessive force can damage threads or crack the sensor housing.
