A flat wood chisel with a 51 mm blade width, made from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel. The tool is designed for precise woodworking – from shaping edges to cutting mortises and grooves in joinery.
Technical characteristics
CrV (chrome vanadium) steel
The blade is made from tool steel with added chromium and vanadium. Chromium increases resistance to corrosion and wear, while vanadium improves hardness and impact strength. This material holds its edge longer than ordinary carbon steel, which reduces how often the chisel needs sharpening during intensive use.
Precision-ground blade

Non-slip two-component handle

Use and maintenance
Preparing for use
Before first use, check that the blade is sharp. If necessary, hone the cutting edge on a stone or with a sharpener. The blade should be sharpened at an angle of 25–30 degrees to the plane – a smaller angle increases sharpness, a larger one increases edge strength.
Chiselling technique
When chiselling by hand, guide the chisel with the bevel facing the waste material. When using a hammer, apply controlled blows to the steel striking cap. Avoid angled blows – they can cause the blade to chip or damage the handle.
Maintenance
After finishing work, clean chips and resin from the blade. Store in a dry place, protecting the cutting edge with a guard or placing the chisel in a dedicated holder. Oil the blade periodically with maintenance oil to prevent corrosion. Check the condition of the handle regularly – a loose blade seating requires repair.
