A hand brush made from brass-coated steel wire, designed for removing rust, scale, paint and other contaminants from metal and wooden surfaces. Six rows of bristles increase cleaning efficiency, while the wooden handle provides a comfortable grip during use.
The bristles are made from brass-coated steel, combining the hardness of steel with the corrosion resistance of brass. The brass layer protects the wire from rust when working in damp conditions, extending the life of the tool. Brass coating also reduces the risk of sparking during intensive cleaning.
A higher number of wire rows (6 instead of the standard 3–4) means a larger working area and faster removal of contaminants. The denser bristles reach into uneven areas and recesses in the material more effectively, cutting down working time.
Natural wood provides a stable, non-slip grip even with damp hands. The material absorbs the vibrations generated during brushing, reducing hand fatigue. The handle length (approximately 15.5 cm) allows comfortable working in a range of positions.
A working area of 13.5 × 3 cm makes it possible to clean larger flat surfaces in less time. The overall brush width of 4 cm provides stability during use, while the total length of 29 cm gives sufficient leverage when removing stubborn contaminants.

Brass-coated wire brushes are more resistant to corrosion than plain steel brushes, but less aggressive than stainless steel brushes. They are suitable for most workshop applications where rust needs to be removed without excessively scratching the substrate. For softer materials (aluminium, copper), pure brass brushes are recommended; for the most stubborn contaminants, uncoated steel brushes.
During use, guide the brush in the direction of the bristles, applying moderate pressure. Excessive pressure shortens the life of the wire and may damage the surface being cleaned. After use, clean accumulated contaminants from the brush by tapping the handle against a hard surface or blowing it out with compressed air.
Store the tool in a dry place, away from sources of moisture. Despite the brass coating, prolonged contact with water can lead to corrosion of the wire. Worn, bent or broken bristles reduce cleaning efficiency – in that case, replace the brush with a new one.
Safety glasses must be worn when brushing – flying fragments of rust, paint or wire can damage the eyes. Work gloves are also recommended to protect the hands from the sharp ends of the bristles. When intensively cleaning materials that contain toxic substances (such as lead-based paints), a dust mask is essential.
