GEKO G80362 Single-Phase Electric Motor 3 kW / 4 hp 230 V
A single-phase electric motor designed to drive machinery and equipment requiring 3 kW of power from a 230 V domestic mains supply. The squirrel-cage induction design ensures reliable continuous-duty operation.
Technical features
230 V single-phase supply
Can be connected to a standard domestic or workshop electrical installation. No 400 V three-phase supply is required, which simplifies installation where an industrial supply is not available. The 15.6 A current draw requires a protective device rated at 16 A minimum.
2800 rpm speed
A two-pole synchronous motor designed to operate at a 50 Hz mains frequency. The actual speed under load is approx. 2800 rpm (with a synchronous speed of 3000 rpm), which matches the standard requirements of most drives.
IP44 protection rating
The enclosure is protected against the ingress of solid objects larger than 1 mm and against water spray from any direction. The motor can be used in workshop conditions where dust and moisture are present, but it is not suitable for locations directly exposed to rain.

Checking electrical installation compatibility
Before installation, check that the electrical installation is protected by a circuit breaker rated at 16 A minimum (20 A is recommended because of the starting current). Supply cables should have a cross-section of at least 2.5 mm² for distances of up to 20 m from the distribution board; for longer distances, increase the cross-section to 4 mm² to limit voltage drop.
Installation and operation
The motor should be mounted on a stable, flat surface that allows heat to dissipate. A minimum clearance of 10 cm from walls and other equipment is required to ensure free circulation of cooling air.
Check the direction of rotation on first start-up. On single-phase motors, changing the direction requires rewiring the connections in the terminal box in accordance with the manufacturer's diagram.
Regular maintenance includes checking the condition of the bearings (every 6 months under intensive use), cleaning dust from the ventilation ducts and inspecting the electrical connections. The ball bearings should be greased with bearing grease every 2000–3000 hours of operation.
