GEKO G80708 Rotary Hammer Drill – 1500W, 6J, SDS Plus
A versatile rotary hammer drill with an SDS Plus chuck, designed for drilling, hammer drilling and chiselling in concrete, stone, wood and steel. This model features four operating modes and variable speed control.
Technical features
Four operating modes
The selector switch lets you choose one of four modes: standard drilling (for wood and metal), hammer drilling (for concrete and stone), chiselling (demolition work) and chisel positioning. Modes are changed by turning the dial on the housing.
Variable speed control
A six-position dial lets you set the speed between 300-800 rpm and the impact rate between 1500-4000 bpm. Lower speeds are used for drilling in metal, higher speeds for work in concrete and stone.
Depth stop
A metal depth stop with a scale up to 24 cm allows precise setting of the drilling depth. Once the required depth is set, the depth stop is locked with the clamping screw on the auxiliary handle.
SDS Plus chuck system
The SDS Plus chuck allows rapid tool changes without the need for keys. It also transfers the impact energy efficiently to the drill bit or chisel, which increases efficiency when working in hard materials.

Use and maintenance
Lubricating the hammer mechanism
The grease chamber needs to be topped up with grease at regular intervals. Before starting work, check the grease level through the opening in the housing. Inadequate lubrication causes the mechanism to overheat and shortens the service life of the tool. A tube of grease and a grease chamber key are included.
Choosing the right drill bit for the material
For concrete, use tungsten carbide drill bits marked SDS Plus. For wood, use twist drill bits with an SDS Plus shank, or standard drill bits via an SDS Plus chuck adaptor. For steel, use HSS or HSS-Co drill bits, also with a suitable adaptor.
Protection class and IP rating
Protection class II means double electrical insulation, which removes the need to earth the tool. The IP44 rating provides protection against the ingress of solid objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes from any direction, allowing work in building site conditions with high humidity.
