A component that secures the cutting attachment to the output shaft of the bevel gearbox on a petrol brushcutter. The locking flange design prevents the nut from working loose during operation.
The integrated locking flange prevents the nut from loosening under vibration and rotational load. This design removes the need for frequent re-tightening during operation.
The thread and dimensions meet the standards used by most petrol brushcutters. Fits bevel gearboxes with an M10×1.25 or M10×1.5 output shaft.
Used to secure a cutting blade, brush blade or line head to the gearbox output shaft. Provides a stable connection between the cutting attachment and the drive system.
Made from tool steel of suitable hardness. The material withstands the cyclical mechanical loads and vibration encountered during cutting.

Before buying, check the thread on the gearbox output shaft of your brushcutter. The standard threads are M10×1.25 (most common) or M10×1.5. This information can be found in the operator's manual or on the machine's rating plate.
Tighten the nut with an open-ended spanner of the correct size, using the tightening torque recommended by the brushcutter manufacturer (typically 25–35 Nm). Before fitting, clean any dirt from the shaft thread and apply a thin layer of anti-seize grease.
When changing the cutting attachment, check the condition of the nut thread and the locking flange. Mechanical damage (dents, worn threads) means the component must be replaced. After every removal, check that the nut is tight before starting the brushcutter.
Carry out fitting and removal of the nut with the engine switched off and the spark plug lead disconnected. Immobilise the cutting attachment with the shaft lock or the assembly spanner supplied with the brushcutter. Wear protective gloves.
