High-cut nubuck leather work boots with a steel toe cap and penetration-resistant midsole. They meet the EN ISO 20345:2011 standard in category S3 SRC, providing mechanical protection and slip resistance in demanding working conditions.
The S3 marking covers all the features of category S2 (water-resistant upper, heel energy absorption, antistatic properties) plus a penetration-resistant steel midsole with a strength of 1100 N and a cleated outsole. Designed for work involving exposure to sharp objects and uneven surfaces.
The steel component in the toe of the boot protects the toes against impacts of up to 200 joules (equivalent to a 20 kg mass falling from a height of 1 metre) and compression of up to 15 kilonewtons. It meets the requirements of the standard for safety footwear.
Nubuck is the top layer of cowhide leather, buffed to a velvety texture. It retains the thickness and strength of full-grain leather, providing mechanical resistance while remaining breathable. It requires a waterproofing treatment to maintain its performance.
A two-layer polyurethane construction with different densities – the softer lower layer absorbs impacts, while the harder upper layer provides stability. The SRC marking confirms slip resistance on both ceramic with SLS solution and steel with glycerol – the highest slip resistance standard.

Category S3 is the third level of protection in the EN ISO 20345 standard for safety footwear. It includes all the features of S2 (water-resistant upper, energy absorption, antistatic properties) plus a penetration-resistant steel midsole and a cleated outsole. It is intended for environments with a risk of foot penetration and for outdoor work.
SRC is the highest slip resistance marking, combining two tests: SRA (ceramic with sodium lauryl sulfate solution) and SRB (steel with glycerol). SRC footwear maintains grip in the most difficult conditions – on wet, greasy and slippery surfaces.
Antistatic footwear dissipates electrical charges, preventing sparks in explosive atmospheres (ATEX). Electrical resistance falls within the range of 100 kΩ – 1000 MΩ. It is neither conductive footwear (below 100 kΩ) nor insulating footwear (above 1000 MΩ).
Nubuck requires regular care to maintain its protective properties and appearance:
Cleaning: Remove dirt with a soft natural-bristle brush or a nubuck eraser. Avoid wet cleaning – if necessary, use a minimal amount of water and a specialist nubuck cleaner.
Waterproofing: Apply a spray waterproofing treatment designed for nubuck leather after every cleaning and every 2-3 weeks of intensive use. The treatment protects against moisture and dirt without changing the structure of the material.
Drying: If the boots get wet, dry them at room temperature away from radiators. They can be filled with paper to hold their shape. Do not use dryers or other heat sources – high temperatures damage the structure of the leather and the adhesives.
Restoring the texture: Regularly brush the surface with a specialist nubuck brush to restore the velvety texture. Brushing in one direction lifts the leather fibres.
