A device for manually generating vacuum in the range from 0 to -1 bar, designed for the diagnostics and servicing of vacuum systems in motor vehicles. It features a precision dual-scale gauge as well as a set of hoses and connection adaptors.
The pump generates vacuum in the range from 0 to -1 bar (equivalent to -100 kPa or -30 inHg). A value of -1 bar means a pressure one atmosphere below ambient pressure, which is sufficient to test most vacuum systems in vehicles, where typical working values range from -0.5 to -0.9 bar.
The built-in gauge has two scales: kilopascals (kPa) and inches of mercury (inHg). This allows readings to be taken in line with the technical documentation of different vehicle manufacturers. The kPa scale is the European standard, while inHg is used mainly by American manufacturers.
The pump has a contoured handle that provides a secure grip during repeated pumping. The design allows vacuum to be generated smoothly without excessive effort, which matters during lengthy diagnostic procedures.
The kit includes flexible hoses in various lengths (530 mm, 90 mm, 80 mm, 70 mm), allowing the setup to be adapted to the specific system being tested. The different lengths make it possible to work both in tight spaces in the engine bay and on components that require a longer reach.
| Model | G01157 |
| Vacuum range | 0 to -1 bar (0 to -100 kPa / 0 to -30 inHg) |
| Gauge type | Analogue, dual scale (kPa / inHg) |
| Operation | Manual (pump with ergonomic handle) |
| Hose lengths | 2 × 530 mm, 1 × 90 mm, 1 × 80 mm, 1 × 70 mm |
| Kit contents | Pump with gauge, 5 flexible hoses, connection adaptors, plugs, container with 2 caps |
Before starting work, select the appropriate hose and connection adaptor for the system being tested. When bleeding brakes, a container with a cap is used to collect the fluid. Pump evenly, watching the gauge reading until the required vacuum level is reached.
Reference values for typical systems: brake servo -0.7 to -0.9 bar, EGR valve -0.4 to -0.6 bar, throttle actuators -0.3 to -0.5 bar. A drop in vacuum after pumping stops indicates a leak in the system. Detailed figures should be verified in the vehicle's technical documentation.
After use, clean any fluid residue from the hoses. Store the pump in a dry place with the valves closed. Periodically check the tightness of the hose connections and the accuracy of the gauge readings by comparing them against a calibrated reference instrument.
