Heat shrink solder connectors with built-in solder combine soldering and insulation in a single component. The product is designed for permanently joining 0.5-1.5 mm² copper wires while protecting the joint against moisture and mechanical damage.
The connector has a central ring of solder with two rings of hot-melt adhesive on either side. When heated, the solder melts and joins the wires while the adhesive forms a waterproof barrier – this removes the need for separate soldering and insulating of the joint.
The built-in solder melts at 105°C, producing a stable joint between copper wires. The connector shrinks at 80°C – the PE material shrinks before the solder melts, ensuring the correct sequence during the joining process.
This is the connector's initial diameter, sized for 0.5-1.5 mm² wires. When heated, the connector shrinks around the wires, pressing the solder and adhesive into place. Check the outer diameter of your wire – it must fall within the connector's compatible range.
The polyethylene used in heat shrink connectors offers flexibility, resistance to chemicals and insulating properties. Once shrunk, it forms a tight seal that protects the joint against moisture, dust and vibration.

Strip about 5-7 mm of insulation from each wire. The wires should be clean, free of oxides and contamination – if necessary, clean them with abrasive paper or a wire brush. Slide the connector onto one of the wires before joining them.
Push both wires into the connector so that they meet in the middle, at the solder ring. Use a heat gun or a gas lighter to heat the connector evenly – start in the middle and move the heat source towards the ends. The connector shrinks first (80°C), then the solder melts (105°C), and finally the sealing adhesive activates.
Once cool (about 1-2 minutes), check that the connector fits tightly around the wires and that melted solder is visible at the ends – this indicates a correct joint. Gently pull the wires in opposite directions – a correctly made joint should withstand the pulling force.
