The hex key with handle is an L-type tool with an ergonomic grip, designed for use with hex socket screws and bolts. Model 56648 VOREL in size 10.0 mm combines the functionality of a classic Allen key with the working comfort provided by a two-component handle.
Chrome vanadium alloy is characterised by increased hardness and resistance to mechanical wear. CrV 6150 steel retains its strength parameters even under intensive use, which translates into a longer tool life and a lower risk of deforming the working tip.
The thermal blackening process creates a protective layer that shields the steel against corrosion and oxidation. The black surface also makes the tool easier to identify within a set and reduces light glare when working in difficult lighting conditions.
The two-component construction combines a hard polypropylene base with a soft TPR (thermoplastic elastomer) layer in the grip zones. This combination ensures a secure grip even with damp hands and reduces fatigue during prolonged work requiring high torque.
The L-type construction allows work in two configurations: the short arm for higher torque, or the long arm for better access in confined spaces. The side bar enables effective loosening of tightly tightened or corroded fasteners.

The 10.0 mm size corresponds to the internal diameter of the screw's hexagonal socket. Before use, check that the key size matches the screw socket – a clearance greater than 0.1 mm may damage the socket edges. A 10 mm key is used for fasteners with medium to high tightening torques.
The hex key requires basic maintenance to preserve its full functionality. After working in damp conditions or contact with corrosive substances, clean the tool and protect it with a thin layer of oil. The PP + TPR handle can be cleaned with a damp cloth without using aggressive solvents.
When working, match the key arm to the required torque – the shorter arm provides greater force but requires more limited working space. Avoid using extensions on the hex key, as this may exceed the permissible torque and damage the tool or the fastener.
Hex keys should be stored in a dry place, protected from contact with moisture and chemicals. Handles made from thermoplastic materials may degrade under prolonged UV exposure, so storage in closed tool boxes or drawers is recommended.
