A hex socket with a 1/4" drive and a 14 mm across-flats size, designed for work on nuts and bolt heads in the metric system. Made from tool steel and compatible with torque wrenches, ratchets and power screwdrivers with a 1/4" bit holder.
The 6.35 mm (1/4") square drive is the standard for light assembly work. It is compatible with most ratchets, torque wrenches and adaptors found in mechanical and electronics workshops.
The 14 mm across-flats size corresponds to M8 and M9 bolts in the metric system. The hexagonal profile spreads torque evenly across six points of contact, minimising the risk of rounding off the corners of the fastener.
Tool steel offers a suitable combination of hardness and wear resistance. This material withstands repeated mechanical loads during the tightening and loosening of fasteners.
The internal hex gives a precise fit on bolt heads and nuts. This geometry transmits torque without slipping, which matters when working with fasteners tightened to varying degrees.

The socket works with all tools fitted with a 1/4" drive: hand ratchets, torque wrenches with lower torque ranges, impact drivers, extension bars and universal joints. Before use, check that the tool's torque output does not exceed the socket's load capacity.
Before first use, check that the socket seats correctly on the tool drive – any play can damage the drive. During use, the socket should be pushed fully onto the bolt head or nut, which prevents the corners from being rounded off.
After finishing work, clean the socket of dirt and any oil residue. Storing it in a dry place, in an organiser or a toolbox, extends the service life of the product. With intensive use, it is worth checking the condition of the internal hex profile periodically – worn edges can cause slipping and damage to fasteners.
