A hex socket with a 3/4 inch drive, made from chrome vanadium steel. This tool is designed for fitting and removing 33 mm hex nuts and bolts using a ratchet or torque wrench.
The size of the square drive determines compatibility with drive tools. The 3/4" size is used for work requiring high torque – typically above 200 Nm. It fits ratchets, torque wrenches and impact wrenches with a 19.05 mm square drive.
A steel alloy enriched with chromium and vanadium, characterised by increased surface hardness and resistance to wear. The addition of chromium provides protection against corrosion, while vanadium increases mechanical strength. This material allows repeated use under load without deformation.
The inside of the socket has six flat surfaces spaced at 60 degrees. This profile distributes forces over a larger contact area with the nut, minimising the risk of slipping and damage to the edges of the fastener, particularly on rusted joints.
The length measured from the drive to the end of the working profile. It determines the depth the socket can reach and whether it will fit in a confined assembly space. A length of 33 mm is standard for short sockets, used for standard access to fasteners.

The socket works with the following types of tool with a 3/4 inch square drive:
The ratchet mechanism allows work without removing the socket. With the 3/4" size, the typical handle length is 450-600 mm, which translates to a torque of 300-500 Nm with a force of 100 kg.
Tools that allow tightening with controlled torque. The measuring range of 3/4" wrenches is typically 80-600 Nm. Essential for fitting components that require precise tightening in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Tools that generate rotational impacts. They require impact sockets of increased strength. Before use, check that the socket is marked for impact work.
Components that allow access to hard-to-reach places. When using extensions, account must be taken of the reduction in effective torque and the increased risk of flexing under high side loads.
Before each use, check the condition of the socket's working surface – no cracks, chipped edges or excessive wear. A damaged socket may slip on the nut, rounding it off.
After working in damp conditions or contact with road salt, clean the socket and protect it with a thin layer of oil. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the tool.
Do not use standard sockets with impact wrenches without verifying that the manufacturer permits such use. Non-impact sockets may crack under rotational impacts.
When working with torque exceeding 400 Nm, the use of impact sockets with increased wall thickness is recommended, even if impact tools are not being used – they provide a greater safety margin.
