Aluminium oxide sanding sheets designed for coarse sanding of a range of materials. The hook and loop backing allows for quick changes, while the dust extraction holes improve working efficiency.
P80 grit corresponds to an average grain diameter of approximately 201 micrometres. It is used for removing larger uneven areas, thick layers of material and rust, as well as for initial surface levelling before finish sanding.
Aluminium oxide is characterised by high hardness and wear resistance. During use, the aluminium oxide grains fracture in a controlled manner, exposing fresh cutting edges, which extends the life of the sheet.
The hook and loop backing allows the sheet to be changed in seconds without tools. It provides a secure hold during use and allows the same sheet to be reattached multiple times.
The perforations in the sheet work with the dust extraction system in the sander. Removing dust directly from the sanding area prevents the abrasive grains from clogging, extends the life of the sheet and improves visibility of the workpiece surface.

93×180 mm sheets fit orbital and vibrating sanders with a backing pad of the corresponding dimensions. Before purchase, check the dimensions of the backing pad and the layout of the dust extraction holes – these must match the holes in the sheet for the dust extraction system to work correctly.
P80 grit falls within the coarse range. For comparison:
Removing thick layers of material, stripping paint, levelling large uneven areas.
Initial surface levelling, removing tool marks, preparation for finish sanding.
Finish sanding of wood, removing fine scratches, preparation for lacquering.
Smoothing surfaces, sanding between coats of lacquer, polishing.
Before fitting the sheet, check that the sander's hook and loop backing pad is clean – contamination reduces holding strength. The dust extraction holes in the sheet must be aligned with the holes in the sander's pad.
During use, apply even pressure without pressing down excessively, as this prevents premature wear of the abrasive grains. Regularly emptying the dust container or cleaning the filter in the extraction system maintains effective dust removal.
A worn sanding sheet can be recognised by its glazed surface, reduced sanding performance and the appearance of shiny patches – this means the abrasive grains have become blunt. Sheets should be stored in a dry place, away from sources of heat and moisture.
