Twist drill bit for metal, made from HSS 6542 high-speed steel with a 1/4" hex shank. The 135° split point tip removes the need for centre punching and ensures accurate centring when starting to drill.
An alloy of tungsten, molybdenum and cobalt delivers a hardness of 63-65 HRC and resistance to temperatures of up to 600°C. The cobalt content increases drill bit life when working with difficult-to-machine steel grades. This material retains cutting edge sharpness even under intensive use.
Cross grinding of the tip removes the need to centre punch the surface before drilling. The 135° angle reduces the feed pressure required to start work and prevents the drill bit from slipping. This solution cuts drilling time by 20-30% compared with standard drill bits.
The hex shank ensures a secure hold in quick-release chucks and prevents the drill bit from turning in the holder. Compatible with cordless drills, drill drivers and bit adapters. The standard 6.3 mm size makes tool changes quick and easy.
The drill bit surface is ground to DIN 338, which guarantees that hole dimensional tolerances are maintained. The helical flutes clear swarf from the drilling point and reduce friction. Precision manufacture minimises vibration during use.

| Intended use | Metal, steel, stainless steel |
For structural steel, a rotational speed of 1200-1500 rpm is recommended at a 4.5 mm diameter. For stainless steel, reduce the speed to 800-1000 rpm and use emulsion or oil cooling. The drill bit feed should be even, without excessive pressure, which can cause the tip to overheat.
After finishing work, clean the drill bit of swarf and material residue. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion. If the cutting edges become noticeably blunt, the drill bit can be re-sharpened on a drill bit sharpener, maintaining the 135° angle and tip symmetry. Regularly clearing contamination from the helical flutes extends tool life.
