How to check compatibility with a vehicle or machine
Before use, three parameters must be verified: (1) whether the mass of the load being lifted does not exceed 20 tonnes, (2) whether the minimum height of the lifting point is at least 235 mm — the height the jack occupies when fully collapsed, (3) whether the target lifting height falls within the range of up to 445 mm. On vehicles with low sports suspension, the 235 mm minimum height may be a limiting factor — in which case a spacer block is required or a model with a lower minimum working height should be selected.
Use and maintenance
The KD1985 bottle jack is a hydraulic device filled with hydraulic fluid. Correct operation requires observing the following rules:
- Always set the jack on firm, level ground — working on unstable or sloping ground risks tipping over
- Never exceed the rated 20 tonne capacity — overloading damages the seals and valves of the hydraulic system
- Use additional support (axle stands) when working under a lifted load — the jack is designed for lifting, not for prolonged support
- Check the hydraulic fluid level regularly and top it up with fluid intended for hydraulic systems
- After use, lower the ram to the collapsed position and store the jack upright
- Protect the unit from moisture and low temperatures, which affect the properties of the hydraulic fluid
