Impact Bit Adaptor 1/2"-1/4" YT-04691 YATO
An adaptor that converts the 1/2" square drive of an impact wrench to a 1/4" holder for standard bits. It allows the power of pneumatic and electric tools to be used with precision screwdriver bits.
Features of the 1/2"-1/4" impact bit adaptor
Hardened steel construction
Heat-treated material withstands the dynamic loads generated by impact wrenches. Hardening increases resistance to deformation at high torque, extending the adaptor's service life under intensive workshop use.
Black oxide finish
The protective layer formed in the oxidising process prevents surface corrosion. Blackening also improves anti-wear properties by reducing friction at the joint with the wrench drive and the bit. The matt finish makes the tool easier to identify.
Bit retaining hole
The cross hole in the 1/4" holder accepts the ball detent of standard hex-shank bits. The mechanical retention stops the bit falling out during use and improves the precision with which torque is transmitted to the fastener.
Compact 50 mm length
The adaptor's short body minimises the overall added length of the tool assembly while maintaining access to screws in recesses and narrow assembly spaces. The compact form reduces the leverage that could cause flexing under impact load.

Tool compatibility
The adaptor works with all impact wrenches fitted with a 1/2" square drive – pneumatic, corded electric and cordless. The 1/4" holder accepts standard hex-shank bits from 25 mm upwards, including screwdriver bits, hex bit sockets and specialist profiles.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the adaptor is correctly seated in the wrench drive – the 1/2" square must be fully inserted and locked by the tool's ball detent. Push the bit fully into the 1/4" holder until the retaining ball engages in the hole.
During use the adaptor transmits the full power of the impact wrench, so a bit of a suitable strength grade must be selected (minimum S2; impact-rated bits recommended). Standard bits may be damaged during prolonged operation at maximum torque.
After use, clean the adaptor of contamination and protect it with a thin film of tool oil. Regular cleaning of the retaining hole prevents the detent mechanism from seizing. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the protective layer.
