Impact Bits 1/4" x 50 mm T25 YATO YT-78054 - pack of 2

Professional impact bits made from S2 steel with a TORX T25 tip, designed for use with impact drivers and impact drills. Hardening to 58-60 HRC ensures resistance to impact loads and long service life.

Tip typeTORX T25
MaterialS2 steel
Length50 mm
Quantity2 pcs

Features of YATO impact bits

S2 steel hardened to 58-60 HRC

S2 alloy steel contains additions of silicon, chromium and molybdenum, which increase its resistance to impact and torsion. Hardening to the 58-60 HRC (Rockwell) range gives a surface hardness that counteracts abrasion and deformation of the tip during intensive work with impact power tools.

TORX T25 tip

The TORX system uses a six-point star profile that spreads torque over a larger contact area with the screw. The T25 size is used in electronics, automotive work and precision engineering. It reduces the risk of cam-out and damage to the screw head compared with cross-head bits.

1/4" (6.3 mm) hex shank

The standard 1/4" shank is the most common size in hand-held power tools. The hexagonal shape ensures a secure fit in the driver chuck and prevents the bit from turning during use. Compatible with most cordless drivers, impact drills and magnetic bit holders.

Phosphate coating

Phosphating is a chemical process that forms a protective layer of iron or zinc phosphates on the steel surface. It protects against corrosion during storage and use in damp conditions. The matt, dark grey finish increases surface grip and reduces glare.

Applications for T25 bits

  • Assembly and dismantling of consumer electronics housings (laptops, consoles, routers)
  • Car servicing - interior trim components, door panels, centre consoles
  • Installing electrical accessories and mounting rails
  • Work on domestic appliances - removing the rear panels of washing machines, dishwashers and fridges
  • Assembling chipboard furniture with TORX fixings
  • Fitting bicycle components (disc brakes, derailleurs)
  • Workshop work on industrial machinery and equipment
  • Refurbishing and repairing power tools

Compatibility with power tools

YATO impact bits work with impact drivers, drill drivers with an impact function and impact adapters. Check in your power tool's manual whether it has an impact function - you can recognise it by the hammer symbol or the word "impact". Do not use them in ordinary drivers without an impact function, as these will not make use of the bit's constructional properties.

Differences between standard and impact bits

Impact bits differ from standard bits in their internal construction and material. S2 steel is more elastic than the chrome vanadium (CrV) steel used in ordinary bits, which allows it to absorb impact pulses without cracking. The shank area of impact bits is additionally reinforced to withstand the cyclic mechanical loads generated by the power tool's impact mechanism.

Impact bits can be used in standard drivers, but not the other way round - ordinary bits in impact tools quickly fail through cracking or chipping of the tip.

Use and maintenance

Before starting work, check that the bit tip fits the screw exactly - any play can lead to damage to the screw head or to the bit itself. When driving, keep the bit axis perpendicular to the screw surface so that the forces are distributed evenly.

After use, clean the bit of dust, swarf and material residues. In damp environments, or after contact with chemicals, wash the bit and dry it to prevent corrosion despite the phosphate coating. Store bits in a dry place, in an organiser or tool case.

When to replace a bit

You can recognise a worn bit by rounded edges on the tip, visible signs of abrasion, or difficulty seating it in the screw. A damaged tip slips in the screw head, which can result in damage to the screw. The 2-piece set provides a spare bit in case of intensive use.
