Impact screwdriver bit for Pozidriv PZ3 screws, made from S2 tool steel. The design is reinforced for impact loads and the magnetic tip makes work easier.
S2 tool steel has a higher silicon content, which gives greater flexibility and resistance to cracking under impact loads. Compared with standard CrV steel, it withstands repeated strikes from impact drivers better.
The Pozidriv system differs from Phillips by an extra set of ribs between the arms of the cross. The PZ3 size is used for larger screws (5–7 mm diameter), giving better torque transfer and less risk of cam-out.
The compact length allows work in confined spaces and with short bit holders. The bit fits standard 1/4" holders and magnetic adaptors.
A magnet built into the tip holds the screw in the working position, so there is no need to hold it with your other hand. This makes work easier in hard-to-reach places and for overhead assembly.

Pozidriv screws have small additional lines between the arms of the main cross, forming a characteristic star pattern. Using the wrong bit (for example, a Phillips instead of a Pozidriv) wears the tip more quickly and damages the screw recess.
Before starting work, check that the bit size matches the screw recess – a PZ3 bit should fit into the recess without any play. While driving, keep the tool axis perpendicular to the screw surface to avoid cam-out.
On impact drivers, the torque setting should be matched to the material and the screw diameter. Too much torque can damage the screw recess or the bit tip.
After work, clean the bit of dust and swarf. The magnetic tip can be wiped gently with a dry cloth. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion and extends tool life.
