An open-ended spanner with VDE insulation, designed for work on electrical installations live up to 1000V AC. The tool combines certified electrical protection with the strength of chrome vanadium steel.
The VDE marking confirms compliance with electrical safety standards. The insulation protects against electric shock when working on installations with alternating voltage up to 1000 volts. Every VDE tool undergoes individual dielectric testing.
The CrV alloy is characterised by increased hardness and wear resistance compared to ordinary tool steel. The addition of chromium provides corrosion resistance, while vanadium increases mechanical strength under dynamic loads.
The multi-layer construction combines a hard inner insulating layer with an outer layer featuring a micro-textured structure. This ensures a secure grip even in damp conditions and when working in protective gloves.
The 15 mm jaw opening matches standard nuts and bolt heads used in electrical installations. The 150 mm overall length allows work in confined spaces while maintaining adequate leverage.

Before every use, carry out a visual inspection of the insulation: check for cracks, scuffing, discolouration or mechanical damage. Damaged insulation disqualifies the tool from live working. VDE tools should be stored in a dry place, away from heat sources and chemicals that could degrade the insulating material.
The 1000V AC (alternating voltage) rating specifies the maximum working voltage at which the tool can be used safely. This covers typical single-phase 230V and three-phase 400V installations. The insulation provides a safety margin in accordance with IEC 60900. VDE AC tools must not be used on DC installations with higher voltages without verifying the permissible parameters.
VDE insulated tools require proper maintenance to preserve their protective properties. After finishing work, clean the spanner of dirt with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use organic solvents, petrol or abrasives, which may damage the insulating layer.
The CrV steel working part can be protected against corrosion with a thin layer of machine oil. Store the tool at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight and contact with chemicals. Check the condition of the insulation regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and industry standards.
