An open-ended spanner with dielectric insulation, designed for work on live electrical installations at up to 1000V AC. The tool combines CrV chrome vanadium steel with a multi-component handle certified to VDE, providing protection against electric shock.
The VDE mark confirms that the insulation has been tested for resistance to overvoltages up to 1000V AC. Every insulating layer undergoes dielectric testing in accordance with EN 60900, guaranteeing safety when working on distribution boards, sockets and live cables.
The chrome and vanadium alloy provides working hardness and resistance to deformation. This material is stronger than standard tool steel, which translates into a longer tool life under regular use in industrial conditions.
The handle construction combines a hard core with a soft outer layer offering anti-slip properties. This arrangement provides a secure grip even in damp conditions, while insulating the hand from the metal parts of the spanner.
The 100 mm length allows work in confined spaces typical of distribution cabinets and installation boxes. The spanner fits into standard tool belt pockets and service cases.

VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik) is a German institute that certifies tools for electrical work. The certificate confirms that the insulation withstands a test voltage of 10 000V AC for a minimum of 3 minutes, which guarantees safety at a working voltage of up to 1000V AC. VDE tools undergo quality control at every stage of production.
Before each use, check the condition of the insulation for cracks, scratches or mechanical damage. Even minor damage to the insulating layer disqualifies the tool from live working. The spanner should be stored in a dry place, away from heat sources and chemicals that may degrade the insulating material.
The insulation can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use organic solvents or abrasive cleaning agents. After use, wipe the spanner with a dry cloth to remove moisture and dirt.
The tool should be withdrawn from use when the insulation shows cracks, discolouration, signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Even a slight breach of the dielectric layer can lead to electric shock. Manufacturers recommend periodic inspection of VDE tools and replacement after intensive use or once the insulation has reached the end of its rated service period.
