A trowel for applying and spreading adhesive and mortar onto insulation boards in thermal insulation systems. Designed for thermal refurbishment work, fitting insulation boards and applying adhesive compounds to façade surfaces.
The 500 mm working surface allows a large area of a standard-size insulation board (50 x 100 cm) to be covered in a single pass. The 140 mm width ensures stable spreading of the adhesive without the risk of the tool tilting during use. The size allows efficient work while maintaining control over the amount of material applied.
The rectangular geometry matches the shape of insulation boards, making it easier to apply adhesive evenly using the bead-and-dab method. Straight edges allow precise spreading of mortar along board edges and into corners. The shape also makes it possible to smooth the surface after the compound has been applied.
The blade is made from a material resistant to moisture and to the chemical components found in insulation adhesives. The handle is designed for prolonged use – the ergonomic grip reduces hand fatigue during many hours of applying mortar. The joint between the blade and the handle gives the tool rigidity when pressing the material down.
The tool is designed for work with external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS). It is compatible with cement-based, polyurethane and hybrid adhesives used in thermal refurbishment. The trowel surface leaves no marks on freshly applied mortar, which is important with the bead-and-dab method of applying adhesive.

Before first use, check that the working surface of the trowel is clean – manufacturing residue may affect adhesive grip. Wiping the blade with a damp cloth is recommended. During use, hold the trowel at an angle of around 30-45 degrees to the insulation board surface, which ensures optimal spreading of the mortar.
Immediately after finishing work, remove any adhesive residue from the trowel surface. Cement-based mortars are washed off with water before they set – once dry, the adhesive has to be removed mechanically, which may damage the tool's surface. Polyurethane adhesives are removed with special solvents or mechanically after they have cured. After washing, dry the trowel to prevent corrosion of the metal parts.
Store the tool in a dry place, away from sources of moisture. Hanging the trowel up or laying it flat is recommended – avoiding resting it on its edge prevents the blade from deforming. Before extended storage, it is worth protecting the metal parts with a thin layer of oil, particularly when working in high-humidity conditions.
