The KD685 is a petrol inverter generator with a single-cylinder OHV engine, producing a pure sine wave output at 230 V / 50 Hz. Inverter technology with microprocessor-controlled throttle management allows sensitive electronics to be powered safely while reducing both fuel consumption and noise levels. The unit weighs 22 kg and features electric start.
Conventional generators produce a distorted sine wave, which can damage switch-mode power supplies, laptops, televisions and audio-visual equipment. The KD685 generates an output closely matching that of the mains supply, allowing consumer electronics and measuring equipment to be powered safely.
A microprocessor monitors the current load and automatically lowers the engine speed when power draw is low. This results in lower petrol consumption, reduced noise levels and less mechanical wear on the engine. ECO mode can be activated manually using a switch on the control panel.
The front panel features: two 230 V AC sockets, a 12 V / 4 A DC output (for charging batteries or powering 12 V devices), a USB port and an OUTPUT RESET button that allows operation to be restored quickly after the overload protection has tripped, without having to stop the engine.
The generator is fitted with voltage, overload and oil level indicator lights. The low oil level protection automatically shuts down the engine, preventing seizure. An earth terminal on the casing allows an earth conductor to be connected in accordance with electrical safety requirements.
The rated power of 2.8 kW refers to S1 mode, i.e. continuous operation without time limits. The maximum power of 3.0 kW is available in S2 mode — short-term operation intended to cover momentary peaks in power draw, for example when starting electric motors. When selecting equipment to be powered, the S1 rated power should be used as the basis.

Before the first start-up, check the engine oil level and top it up to the indicated level — the generator is not supplied with oil filled. Use unleaded petrol in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations given in the operating manual (supplied in Polish).
The generator must only be operated in well-ventilated areas or outdoors — a combustion engine emits carbon monoxide. During longer periods out of use (more than a few weeks), it is advisable to drain the fuel tank and carburettor to prevent the petrol from gumming up.
Regular servicing includes changing the engine oil (after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50 hours), checking and cleaning the air filter, and checking the spark plug gap. A spark plug spanner is included in the set.
