Jump leads rated at a maximum current of 120 amps, designed for emergency starting of petrol and diesel engines. The stranded copper construction ensures efficient current flow while keeping the cable flexible.
The conductor is made from numerous fine copper strands, which keeps the cable flexible in use. Copper has low electrical resistance, which translates into efficient energy transfer between batteries without excessive losses.
The flame-retardant sheathing remains flexible in winter conditions, making the leads easier to handle at sub-zero temperatures. The insulating material does not harden, which prevents cracking when the leads are coiled and uncoiled.
The thermal properties of the insulation allow heat generated by the high current flow to dissipate effectively. This protects the leads from overheating during repeated attempts to start the engine.
A current rating of 120A is sufficient for emergency starting of most passenger cars with petrol engines up to 2.5 litres and diesel engines up to 2.0 litres. The conductor cross-section is matched to carrying this current safely.

Switch off the ignition in both vehicles before connecting the leads. Connection order: positive terminal of the flat battery, positive terminal of the charged battery, negative terminal of the charged battery, then the earth point on the flat vehicle (away from the battery). Once the engine has started, disconnect in the reverse order. Do not allow current to flow for more than 30 seconds.
After use, clean the leads of dirt and dry them. Store in a dry place, away from heat sources and sharp edges. Check the condition of the insulation and the battery clamps regularly. Damaged insulation means the leads must not be used for safety reasons.
