KD1061 indexable turning tool set with replaceable inserts — 21 pieces
The KD1061 is a set of 7 indexable turning tools with 12 × 12 mm shanks, intended for external and internal turning, threading and grooving on conventional and CNC lathes. The set contains the tools, replaceable C6 cemented carbide inserts with a TiN coating, and a complete mounting kit.
Set features
Replaceable C6 carbide inserts
The inserts are made from grade C6 cemented carbide and are intended for machining steel and cast iron at medium to high cutting speeds. Grade C6 provides a balance between hardness and resistance to brittle fracture, which translates into a durable cutting edge during prolonged use.
TiN coating
The titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied to the inserts increases surface hardness and reduces friction between the insert and the workpiece material. The result is slower cutting-edge wear and the ability to work at higher cutting speeds than with uncoated inserts.
Indexable tools — fast insert changes
The indexable design allows a worn insert to be replaced without removing the whole tool from the tool post. This shortens machine downtime and removes the need to reset the tool — simply change the insert and tighten the screw with the supplied key.
A range of tool types in one set
The set includes tools for external turning (SDJCR, SDNCN, SCLCR), grooving and parting off (MGEHR), external threading (SER), internal threading (SNR) and internal turning (S12M-SCLCR). One set therefore covers most common lathe operations.
