KRAFT&DELE KD5358 Mini Bench Lathe – metal, wood, plastics
The KD5358 is a compact bench lathe designed for precision machining of wood, plastics and soft metals (aluminium, copper, brass). Its cast iron bed, variable speed control from 0–2,500 rpm and ability to cut both metric and imperial threads make the machine suitable for workshop as well as hobby use.
Technical features
Cast iron bed
The cast iron body is highly rigid and resistant to deformation under load. It minimises vibration during turning, which translates directly into machining accuracy and longer life of the cutting tools.
Speed control 0–2,500 rpm
Stepless speed control allows the cutting speed to be matched to the material and the type of operation. Low speeds are used for turning metals and hard materials, higher speeds for wood and plastics. The spindle runs in both directions of rotation.
Metric and imperial thread cutting
The lathe can cut external and internal threads from 0.5–3 mm (metric pitch) and 12–48 TPI (imperial). This function is provided by the change gears supplied with the set.
MT2 and MT3 tapers and quick tool change
The tailstock is fitted with an MT2 Morse taper and the spindle with MT3. These standard mountings make the machine compatible with widely available lathe accessories. The quick tool change system reduces set-up time when switching between operations.
Manual and automatic feed
The machine supports both manual and automatic feed. Automatic feed is useful for longitudinal turning over long distances — it provides even tool travel and consistent surface quality without the need for constant operator intervention.

Safety
The lathe is fitted with a splash guard that protects the operator from material and coolant swarf, and with an emergency stop button (STOP). The STOP button allows the spindle to be shut down immediately in situations requiring a quick response. Read the operating instructions before first use.
