A bike lock with a combination mechanism that removes the need to carry keys. The 12 mm steel cable in a protective cover provides security against theft at a length of 800 mm.
A four-digit combination gives 10,000 possible code settings. No keys means no risk of losing them, and the code can be changed whenever needed. You can set your own code once the lock has been opened for the first time.
A 12 mm diameter is a compromise between resistance to cutting and the weight and flexibility of the lock. This thickness provides protection against typical hand tools while still allowing the cable to be coiled easily.
The plastic cover protects the steel cable from corrosion caused by contact with moisture and road salt. It also protects the bike frame's paintwork from scratches when the lock is being fitted.
The length allows the bike to be secured to most stands, posts and other fixed objects. It is sufficient to loop around the frame together with the front wheel when securing to a typical bike rack.

A new lock comes with a factory-set code (usually 0000). After opening it for the first time, move the special reset lever or button (located on the side of the mechanism), set your chosen 4-digit code, then release the lever. Detailed instructions for changing the code are included in the product documentation.
The combination mechanism needs to be cleaned periodically to remove dust and sand, which can make the dials difficult to turn. If the mechanism jams, use compressed air or blow it through gently. Do not lubricate the mechanism with oil, as this attracts dirt.
The rubber cable cover should be checked regularly for damage. Cracks in the cover can lead to corrosion of the steel cable, particularly in winter when it comes into contact with road salt.
A cable lock provides basic security. In areas with a high risk of theft, it is advisable to use it together with a U-lock – the cable secures the wheels while the U-lock protects the frame.
12 mm cable locks provide protection against opportunistic theft. They are not resistant to hydraulic cutters or professional tools. They are recommended for use in areas with a low to medium risk of theft, for stops of up to a few hours, in monitored locations or those with high foot traffic.
