Digital laser distance measure 60 m – KRAFT&DELE KD10406
The KD10406 is a laser distance measure with a range of up to 60 m and ±2 mm accuracy, featuring area and volume calculation as well as measurement using Pythagoras' theorem. The device is designed both for building and installation work and for measurements around the home.
Product features
Class II laser – 635 nm
The 635 nm laser emits a clearly visible red dot, which makes accurate aiming easier even in brightly lit rooms. With an output below 1 mW it falls within the safe Class II category and requires no special protective measures during normal use. The spot diameter is 8 mm at short distances and 40 mm at maximum range.
Calculation functions
As well as measuring distances, the device automatically calculates area (the product of two measurements) and volume (the product of three measurements). Built-in support for Pythagoras' theorem allows distances to be determined where direct measurement is impossible – for example the height of a wall beneath a sloping ceiling. Results can also be added and subtracted.
Continuous measurement, MIN/MAX and memory
Continuous measurement mode updates the reading in real time as the device is moved – useful when locating the point of minimum or maximum distance (for example when checking for uneven walls). A 20-measurement memory lets you keep results without having to note them down straight away.
Display, spirit level and housing
The backlit LCD display shows several readings at once – the current measurement plus supporting data. A built-in bubble level indicates when the device is correctly levelled, which matters for area and volume measurements. The water-resistant housing increases durability on building sites, where exposure to moisture is common.

Compatibility and use
The device runs on widely available 1.5 V AAA batteries. Automatic switch-off of the laser after 15 s and of the device after 45 s of inactivity extends battery life. Measurements should be taken within the operating temperature range of –10°C to +50°C; storage at temperatures down to –25°C / up to +70°C will not damage the device, provided it is allowed to acclimatise to ambient temperature before use. When measuring outdoors in strong sunlight the laser spot may be less visible – using a target plate or shield is recommended.
