The KD11259 is a hand tool for finishing plasterboard edges, allowing a 45° chamfer to be cut and edges to be squared at 90°. Two separate guide channels in the working face let you guide the tool precisely along the board edge without the need for an additional guide.
The plane's working face has two separate guide channels. The first is used for chamfering edges at 45° — on both sides, which is required when butting boards together and filling the joint afterwards. The second channel squares the cut edge at 90°, which is useful when fitting boards around openings and corners.
The 90° edge-squaring channel is designed for the two most common plasterboard thicknesses used in construction: 15 mm (standard partition wall) and 18 mm (boards with increased rigidity and acoustic insulation). Before use, make sure the thickness of the board you are working with matches one of these dimensions.
The tool is fitted with a standard 18 mm snap-off blade. When the active section of the blade becomes blunt, it can be snapped off to reveal a fresh cutting edge. Blades of this format are widely available and easy to replace without any service tools.
The body is made from ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) — a plastic with good resistance to impact and abrasion, widely used in hand tools. Its low weight (98 g) reduces hand fatigue during longer work.

45° chamfering is used on edges that will be joined and filled — the chamfer creates a groove that allows the filler to be applied correctly and prevents cracks at the joint. The 90° channel is used solely for squaring the cut edge when the board is to sit against another surface without the joint being filled.
