Kraft&Dele KD1193 Block and Brick Splitter
The KD1193 is a manual block and brick splitter designed for splitting paving blocks, bricks, kerbs and composite stone without the use of power tools. The lever mechanism with a telescopic arm allows building materials to be split precisely with minimal physical effort.
Product features
Self-levelling top blade
The top cutting edge automatically adjusts to the surface of the material being worked. This spreads the pressure evenly across the full width of the unit, which reduces the risk of uncontrolled cracking and ensures a clean break line.
Telescopic handle
The adjustable lever arm increases the mechanical advantage, allowing thicker and harder materials to be cut efficiently without excessive effort. The telescopic design lets the arm length be matched to the working conditions.
Blade bar with 4 cutting edges
A flexible bar fitted with four active cutting edges with replaceable connectors. Once one edge is worn, the working element can be rotated or replaced, which extends the service life of the whole assembly and reduces running costs.
Height and blade clearance adjustment
Smooth adjustment of the cutting height from 10–140 mm allows materials of different thicknesses to be worked without changing components. Central adjustment of the gap using a threaded spindle allows the splitter to be set quickly for a specific type of material.
Mobility on site
The unit weighs 40 kg, which given its dimensions (80 x 32 x 62 cm) makes easy movement essential. Two transport wheels fitted to the base allow the splitter to be moved around the site without lifting it. Spring-loaded pads cushion the mechanism in operation and improve operator safety during the cutting cycle.

Use and maintenance
Before first use, check the condition of the blade bar and that the blade clearance is set correctly for the thickness of the material being worked. Adjustment is made with the central threaded spindle — too small a gap can lead to uncontrolled cracking, while too large a gap reduces breaking precision.
The cutting edges of the blade bar wear gradually. Once a drop in cutting quality is noticed, the bar should be rotated to use the next edge. Replaceable connectors allow the bar itself to be replaced without servicing the whole unit.
After use, clean the unit of dust and material debris, particularly around the lever mechanism and blade guides. Moving metal parts should be lubricated periodically to keep the mechanism operating smoothly.
