Air Filter / Spray Gun Water Trap with Regulator KD5851
The KD5851 air filter combines the functions of a water trap, oil separator and pressure regulator in a single housing. It is designed for installation in compressed air systems supplying spray guns, air tools and other equipment that requires a clean, dry working medium.
Product features
0.002 mm filtration
A filtration accuracy of 2 microns captures fine solid particles, water condensate and oil droplets that could otherwise cause craters, runs or dull patches in the paint finish. This is a key parameter for work that demands a smooth, even surface.
Integrated pressure regulator
The built-in regulator allows the working pressure to be adjusted between 0.5 and 8.5 bar directly on the filter, with no need for a separate regulator in the line. Stable outlet pressure translates into even atomisation of the coating material.
80 ml condensate bowl
Separated condensate collects in an 80 ml bowl. Emptying the bowl regularly prevents water from re-entering the system. This capacity is sufficient for typical workshop conditions without the need for frequent servicing.
Aluminium threaded section
The aluminium thread provides corrosion resistance and lasting leak-tight connections. The standard 1/2" thread (BSP, approx. 18–21 mm) is compatible with most hoses and fittings used in pneumatic systems.
Compatibility check
Before installation, check the thread size of the existing system. The KD5851 filter has a 1/2" BSP (Whitworth) thread. For systems with an NPT thread (US standard), a reducer or adapter is required. The maximum working pressure of the system must not exceed 10 bar.

Installation and maintenance
The filter is mounted vertically with the condensate bowl facing downwards, allowing separated water and oil to drain by gravity. The unit is connected to the system via the 1/2" thread using PTFE tape or thread sealant. On the inlet side, observe the flow direction marked by the arrow on the housing.
The condensate bowl should be emptied regularly — the frequency depends on how intensively the compressor is used and on the ambient humidity. The filter element should be replaced in line with the manufacturer's recommendations or after a noticeable drop in air flow through the system. The outer housing can be cleaned with agents that do not cause aluminium corrosion.
