22 mm Lambda Sensor Sockets – 3-Piece Set KD12510
KD12510 is a set of three lambda sensor sockets designed for removing and fitting lambda sensors on cars, vans and commercial vehicles, including VAG and Audi models. The sockets are made from two grades of tool steel — CrMo SCM-440 and CrV 50BV30 — giving them the strength needed to work on heavily seized, often corroded sensors.
Features of the set
CrMo SCM-440 steel
SCM-440 grade chrome-molybdenum tool steel offers high hardness and resistance to deformation under high torque. This matters particularly when undoing lambda sensors, which after long service are often badly seized by corrosion in the exhaust manifold thread.
CrV 50BV30 steel
50BV30 chrome-vanadium steel gives the tool high impact strength and flexibility, which reduces the risk of the socket cracking under sudden overload. This grade is widely used in professional workshop tools that need resistance to material fatigue.
22 mm six-point profile
The 22 mm size is the standard used by most lambda sensor manufacturers, including suppliers to VAG group vehicles (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT). The six-point profile grips the sensor body securely and minimises the risk of the tool slipping.
Set of 3 sockets
The three-piece set covers lambda sensors fitted at different points in the exhaust system — both before the catalytic converter (upstream sensor) and after it (downstream sensor), where access is often restricted by underbody or bodywork components.
