GEKO G03356 laser distance measure – 60m range, memory for 99 measurements
An electronic measuring instrument that uses laser technology to determine distances without contact. The device features an LCD display with improved readability and advanced calculation functions for work on site and indoors.
Technical features
LCD HD display
The high-contrast screen keeps readings legible even in direct sunlight. It allows outdoor use without having to shade the display.
±1.5 mm precision
A measuring tolerance of 1.5 mm across the full range of up to 60 metres. This figure represents the maximum deviation of the result from the actual distance, which is sufficient for construction and finishing work.
Memory for 99 measurements
Internal memory stores the last 99 results, so there is no need to note them down straight away. A useful function when taking a series of measurements in one location.
Pythagoras function
Calculates the length of inaccessible sections from indirect measurements. Makes it possible to determine the height or width of objects without direct access to the end point.

Measuring modes and calculation functions
The distance measure supports several operating modes for different measuring scenarios:
Single measurement
Standard mode – one press of the button measures the distance from the device's reference point to the surface reflecting the laser beam.
Continuous measurement
The device updates the result in real time as it is moved. Useful for pinpointing a position or checking whether surfaces are parallel.
Area calculation
After two measurements (length and width) the device automatically displays the area in square metres. This removes the need to multiply the values by hand.
Volume calculation
Requires three measurements: the length, width and height of the room. The result is given in cubic metres – useful when estimating how much bulk material is needed or planning ventilation.
Pythagoras function (indirect measurement)
Works out the length of one side of a right-angled triangle from the other two sides. Application: measuring the height of walls, posts or buildings when the upper measuring point is out of reach.

Use and maintenance
Measurement reference point
The distance measure can take measurements from three reference points: the rear edge of the housing, the front edge or the tripod mounting point. The reference point is changed in the device menu. When measuring into corners or from walls, the thickness of the device's housing must be taken into account (a value that is added automatically once the relevant mode is selected).
Laser operating conditions
A class II laser with a power below 1 mW is safe under short-term exposure, but the beam must not be pointed directly into the eyes. The 60-metre range applies to measurements under typical conditions – in strong sunlight or on dark, light-absorbing surfaces the range may be reduced. To improve readings in difficult conditions, a reflective laser target plate can be used.
Power management
Automatic switch-off of the laser after 30 seconds of inactivity, and of the whole device after 180 seconds, extends battery life. An audible signal confirms that a measurement has been taken and warns of a low battery.
Protection against damage
Rubberised edges on the housing cushion impacts if the device is accidentally dropped from working height. Despite the protection, it is advisable to store the distance measure in its dedicated case and to avoid exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures, which can affect the accuracy of the electronics.
