The composition contains 99.3% tin and 0.7% copper. The addition of copper improves the mechanical properties of the soldered joint and increases corrosion resistance. The alloy meets the requirements of the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, eliminating toxic tin-lead from the soldering process.
The precise diameter allows controlled dispensing of solder when soldering miniature SMD and through-hole components. The thin wire ensures accuracy when working with densely spaced tracks on PCBs and helps avoid excess solder at the joint.
The melting point of lead-free alloy is higher than that of traditional leaded alloys.
