Use and maintenance
Clamp adjustment
Before starting work, set the adjusting screw so that the jaw opening matches the thickness of the component being clamped. Too loose a setting will reduce the stability of the clamp, while too tight a setting may make it difficult to close the locking mechanism. After clamping, check that the component is securely held and does not move under external force.
Maintaining the mechanism
The moving joints and the thread of the adjusting screw require periodic lubrication with machine oil. Remove dirt from the working surfaces of the jaws after every use, particularly after welding work, where metal spatter can build up. Check the condition of the locking mechanism – worn parts can cause the clamp to release on its own during work.
