The KD12536 is a set of 9 specialist sockets designed for fitting and removing 4-slot locknuts in the KM4–KM12 size range. The tools are made from hardened tool steel, which gives them resistance to deformation under the high tightening torques required in the drive systems of vehicles and machinery.
Set features
Dedicated profile for locknuts
The sockets are designed for 4-slot nuts, as found on standardised joints in bearing and drive assemblies. A standard open-ended spanner or multi-point socket will not transmit torque to this type of nut — a tool with lugs that match its slots is required.
Hardened tool steel
The heat-treated material provides a hard working surface while maintaining a tough core. As a result, the tool will not crack under sudden overload or deform during prolonged use at high torque, which is typical when removing seized nuts.
KM4–KM12 range
The KM designation refers to metric locknuts to DIN 981. The KM4–KM12 range covers the sizes used with, among others, gearbox shaft bearings, wheel hubs, drive shafts and differentials in cars, vans and industrial machinery.
Carry case
