The contact tip is a key component of the wire feed system in a MIG welder, conducting the welding current and guiding the wire electrode precisely. Model G80034A is a part dedicated to GEKO Mag250 machines, designed for use with 0.8 mm welding wire.

The contact tip needs replacing when the wire starts to jam during welding, the arc becomes unstable, or the bore is visibly enlarged. Replacing it regularly every 20–30 hours of intensive welding maintains consistent weld quality. Check the condition of the tip before starting any important work.
Before fitting, check that the thread is clean and undamaged. Tighten the contact tip by hand with moderate force – over-tightening can damage the thread in the torch. After every welding session, blow the bore through with compressed air to remove welding dust.
The welding wire should pass through the contact tip freely, without resistance. Any resistance may indicate wear in the bore or contamination. In that case the tip should be replaced with a new one – attempts to clean it can distort the geometry of the bore.
Store in a dry place, protected from moisture and mechanical contamination. Keeping a spare contact tip on hand avoids downtime if it suddenly wears out.
