A hex key with a 5.0 mm hexagonal profile in the long-arm version, made from chrome vanadium steel. A tool designed for fitting and removing hex socket screws in both professional and domestic applications.
A material characterised by increased hardness and wear resistance. The chromium and vanadium alloy provides corrosion resistance and reduces the risk of deformation of the working tip when working with high torques.
The extended design provides access to screws in recesses and hard-to-reach places. The longer arm increases torque, which makes it easier to loosen seized or overtightened screw joints.
One of the most commonly used sizes in mechanics and furniture making. Compatible with M6 screws and standard furniture fittings. It works well for assembling bicycles, sports equipment and power tools.
The precisely ground hexagonal tip ensures a full fit in the screw socket, minimising the risk of damage to the internal socket and wear of the key's edges during intensive use.

The size of a hex key corresponds to the diameter of the circle inscribed inside the screw socket. A 5.0 mm key fits screws marked M6 (6 mm thread diameter) in the metric system. Before use, check that the tip of the key enters the socket freely without play – play can lead to damage to the screw or the key.
Before starting work, make sure that the tip of the key is fully inserted into the screw socket. Incomplete insertion can strip the edges of the socket. When tightening, apply even force without sudden jerks.
After use, clean the key of dirt and oil residue. Chrome vanadium steel is corrosion resistant, but prolonged storage in a damp environment can lead to surface rusting. Store in a dry place, ideally in a tool organiser.
If the tip shows noticeable wear (rounded edges, visible signs of abrasion), the key should be replaced. Using a worn tool increases the risk of damaging screws and can make it impossible to remove them without drilling them out.
