A complete repair kit for restoring damaged or stripped M12 x 1.75mm metric threads. It contains HSS4341 tools and 15 stainless steel helical inserts.
The drill bit and tap are made from advanced HSS4341 steel, which offers increased wear resistance and high working hardness. This material retains its cutting properties even at elevated temperatures, allowing precise machining without loss of sharpness.
15 hardened helical inserts made from stainless steel provide a durable restoration of the thread. Once fitted, they form a new, strong thread surface that often exceeds the performance of the original thread.
The kit contains all the necessary tools: a drill bit for enlarging the hole, a tap for cutting the new thread, a tapping guide that helps produce an accurate thread, and a punch for fitting the helical inserts.
All components are stored in a sturdy plastic case that keeps them tidy and protects the tools from damage. This makes the kit easy to store and transport.

Repairing a damaged thread with this kit takes place in several stages. First, drill out the damaged thread with the drill bit supplied, enlarging the hole diameter. Then, using the tap and the tapping guide, cut a new thread of a larger diameter. A helical insert is then screwed into the prepared hole, and once fitted it forms a thread of the original M12 x 1.75mm dimensions.
Before buying the kit, check that the damaged thread really is M12 x 1.75mm. This can be done with a thread gauge or a reference bolt. Confirming the thread pitch (1.75mm) is particularly important, as other pitches (1.25mm or 1.5mm) are also used for M12.
The kit is intended for repairing threads in steel and cast iron structural components. With aluminium materials, particular care must be taken when drilling and tapping to avoid overheating the material.
